Heading North

Just about to pull out of here to head for Pleasanton with William. I’m looking forward to seeing my grandmother for a brief time tomorrow, but worried about the lack of sleep we face this weekend. It will be nice to get out somewhere new though. If all goes according to plan I should be back Monday night!

Santa Ana Zoo outing

Crista and I visited the Santa Ana Zoo on Sunday. I posted a few pictures up to the gallery. We were quite silly in a few. I think my favorite monkeys were the pygmy marmosets. The picture is blurry so it’s hard to tell, but they are quite small. They are the smallest kind of monkeys in the world, the adults only grow to weigh six ounces. They can move quite quick, but usually they creep along really slow like they are a lizard. It’s rather funny to watch.

On a related note, I think it’s time I look for a 5+ megapixel camera.

Visited Quail Hill Center

Last night C and I hung out and had dinner at the Bamboo Thai Bistro in the new Quail Hill shopping center off Sand Canyon. I hadn’t been to the center before, it’s pretty sweet. There’s really cool outdoor seating with padded patio furniture, wooden tables (not Irvine/Tustin green metal!) and overhead heaters. Nice quiet hangout. It wasn’t busy at all because it’s atypically cold for California this time of year.

Oh, and the food was great too. Though, we did wonder why every new restaurant has one or more TVs installed, especially when it doesn’t go too well with the atmosphere.
