Free T-Mobile Net access?
I can’t believe it took me this long too figure out what bluetooth and T-Mobile free GPRS data could get you.
It means this. The quick summary is, I paired my bluetooth enabled laptop to my bluetooth enabled phone, and set bluetooth dial-up networking on the laptop to call *99***_#. It connects at 115Kbp/s or so. Feels a bit slower than that, but the good news is, SSH works!

Nice. Will WiMax bring the speeds up to something more like DSL?

I think with the fixed WiMax spec, they are supposed to be able to handle like 200 connections at speeds comprable to a T1.
As for my GRPS connection, I think the 115 Kbps was deceptive, I ran some speed tests and it was more like a 33.6 modem. maybe 115 is the bluetooth connection between my laptop and phone, not sure.
The new phone I’m getting does EDGE networking, but alas, I’m not on Cingular or AT&T wireless. Supposedly Cingular caps their EDGE use at 130Kbp/s, which is way better than dial obviously.
